The Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex, Mrs Susan Pyper
St Barnabas House is delighted to announce that The Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex, Mrs Susan Pyper, has agreed to become a Patron of the hospice.
Mrs Pyper has made a number of visits to the hospice since her appointment in 2008 and welcomed HRH Princess Alexandra to St Barnabas House in September 2011 when Her Royal Highness performed the official opening of the new hospice building.
Mrs Pyper said 'I am absolutely delighted to accept the invitation and consider it to be a great honour.'
Mrs Pyper, a former officer in the Royal Air Force, was previously Chairman of the Regional Environment Protection Advisory Committee and a member of the Regional Flood Defence Committee and is currently Joint President of the Sussex Community Foundation. In 1999 she was appointed as a lay member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Preliminary Investigation Committee. In her previous career she chaired a number of NHS Trusts, the most recent being the Royal West Sussex NHS Trust.
Married to Jonathan, the couple have two adult children.
