Get Your Kit On for St Barnabas House!

Members of Singers Rechoired are ready to Get Their Kit On for St Barnabas

With one of the greatest sporting events on earth taking place in June this year, St Barnabas House is asking you to 'Get your kit on' and help your local hospice during the Euro 2012 tournament.

The first match kicks off on Friday 8 June, with the final on Sunday 1 July, and the tournament offers the perfect opportunity to theme any fundraising events around the national game.

The easiest way to get involved is to 'Get your kit on' and wear a football strip for the day. England's first game in the tournament is against France on Monday 11 June, which is also St Barnabas Day, and the hospice is asking people show their support and wear a football shirt - national or domestic - for the day. Whether at work, out shopping or in the pub, it's a simple way of raising vital funds for the hospice.

It's also a great way for local businesses to fundraise - simply ask employees to donate £1 in return to being allowed to wear their football shirt to work. The same can be done by groups, teams, schools and clubs, and if 11 June isn't convenient, just pick another date during the tournament.

Already signed up to get their kit on are:

  • Singers Rechoired
  • Robert Luff Estate Agents
  • Invensys Eurotherm
  • Northbrook College
  • Morrisons, Worthing

Said Neil Francis, Community Fundraising Officer at St Barnabas House, 'The Euro 2012 championships are a really exciting time; not only can you watch some great football, you can make a real difference to your local hospice at the same time.

'We've come up with lots of simple ideas which are really easy to organise and could help you raise lots of money for St Barnabas. We really hope that individuals, groups and local businesses will use Euro 2012 as a way of encouraging staff and members to fundraise and show their support for a vital service, which offers care and support to local people and their families.'
