Hugh Lowson’s column: Wear it Festive for St Barnabas House

Friday 24 November 2017

Hugh Lowson outside St Barnabas House

Following the success of our Wear it Festive fundraising campaign in 2016 we are once again inviting local businesses, schools and individuals to hold a festive fundraising event for us this December.

We are asking local companies, schools and individuals to don a pair of antlers, some tinsel, a silly festive knit or full Santa suit for the day to help raise vital funds to pay for the care services at St Barnabas House.

All of our services are provided free of charge to patients and their families both at the hospice and in their own homes, 365 days a year, including Christmas Day.

The total cost for all the services we provide on Christmas Day is £16,793 and we are hoping that the money raised by Wear it Festive will be enough to pay for these costs.

Wear it Festive will take place on Friday 15 December, or you can choose your own date during December to take part.

We can send you a pack which includes fundraising ideas and tips, as well as instructions on how to play the ‘Office Winter Games’ with your friends or colleagues.

Alternatively you could take part in our ‘Share a Card’ where instead of sending individual cards at the office or at school, everyone can sign a big Christmas card supplied by us and donate the money saved.

To find out more about Wear it Festive or to register to take part, please visit www.stbh.org.uk/wearitfestive or contact our Fundraising Team at fundraising@stbh.org.uk or call 01903 254777.
