Last chance to run in the sold out Brighton Half Marathon for St Barnabas House

Thursday 17 January 2019

Kerrie Denton - Brighton Half MarathonSt Barnabas House has some sought after charity places up for grabs for supporters who fancy lacing up their running shoes and joining the race on Sunday 24 February.

Kerrie Denton, aged 25, is taking on the 13.1 miles for St Barnabas in memory of her auntie, Anne Lackner, from Shoreham-by-Sea who was cared for by the hospice.

Kerrie said: “Back in 2011, my auntie’s brain tumour worsened and spread to her lower body, leaving her wheelchair bound. We had a lot of help from St Barnabas and Anne even came to the hospice to have a bit of respite. Everything the hospice did for her and our family was wonderful and none of us have forgotten this.

In the lead up to the event, St Barnabas House is providing runners with dedicated support including a fundraising pack with hints and tips and a free St Barnabas running vest . On the day, they have cheer teams out on the route and runners can expect refreshments and massages in the Race Village when they cross the finish line.

If like Kerrie you’d like to challenge yourself and help raise funds for vital hospice care, please contact the St Barnabas House Events Team on events@stbh.org.uk or 01903 706355.
