Sussex Masonic Charities donate car to St Barnabas House

Monday 25 March 2019

St Barnabas House is the proud owner of a new car thanks to Sussex Masonic Charities who gifted vehicles to four local hospices at an event held at St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne.

The extra vehicle will make it possible for the St Barnabas Hospice at Home team to visit more life-limited patients in their own homes across West Sussex.

Sussex Masonic Charities is a longstanding and generous supporter of many local charities, having raised a large amount of funding for equipment identified as essential by hospices over the years.

Michael Harris, Chairman of Sussex Masonic Charities, handed the keys to St Barnabas House’s new Interim Chief Executive Officer, Rosemarie Finley, on Friday 15 March.

Michael said: “Sussex Freemasons are proud to be able to directly support the work of our Sussex hospices and the amazing work that the Hospice at Home teams do in our local communities.”

Wendy Bardsley, Development Fundraising Manager said: “Everyone here at St Barnabas House is so grateful to the Sussex Masons for their generosity and support of local hospices over many years. This new car will make a real difference to the lives of our patients. Last year, our incredible Hospice at Home team provided over 3,108 hours of care in peoples’ own homes and with this gift we will reach even more patients and families who will benefit from the specialist care St Barnabas House provides.”
