Jude takes on Triathlon challenge in memory of his Pop Pops

Wednesday 11 September 2019

Seven-year-old Jude Marshall from Steyning has taken it upon himself to tackle a triathlon to raise money in memory of his late grandfather, who was cared for at St Barnabas House.Jude

Jude will be cycling 10k, running a mile and swimming eight lengths of the pool at Steyning Leisure Centre on Sunday 22 September. His triathlon takes place a year after his grandfather, Peter Humphreys, died and will be raising money for St Barnabas House in his memory.

Jude said: “I’m training really hard, especially with my swimming. I’m shocked how much money I have raised so far. Pop pops enjoyed his weekly trips to St Barnabas, I still miss him loads, especially dunking biscuits in his coffee and watching football with him”

Katy Marshall, Jude’s mum, said: “Jude has taken it upon himself to do a triathlon in his memory to raise money for St Barnabas, who was a great support to my dad and our family over the past couple of years.

Jude is sporty, he loves a challenge and is extremely competitive. Even better to do this for his favourite person and also raising money for such an amazing charity that is there for many families.”

Jude has already exceeded his original target of £150 and has currently raised over £1,150 on his Just Giving page.
