20th birthday celebrations at St Barnabas House Wick shop

Thursday 26 September 2019

20th birthday celebrations at St Barnabas House Wick shopOur St Barnabas House hospice shop in Wick opened in 1999 and we’re celebrating 20 years of trading with a party on Wednesday 9 October from 2pm.  Everyone is invited to come along.

Joining us will be The Mayor of Littlehampton, Councillor Tracey Baker together with guests, staff, volunteers, customers and supporters.  We will also have a visit from Barnabee, our St Barnabas House hospice mascot.

Head of Retail, Jan Harper said: “Wick is one of our busiest shops.  Each week, our incredible team of staff and volunteers process and sell over 1,000 items”.

“All this work means the Wick shop will raise enough funds this year to provide 2 whole weeks of care for local patients and their families and we would like to thank everyone for their generous support.  Our customers and donors are not only supporting local hospice care but are also recycling on a large scale”.

The party is being held during Hospice Care Week (7-13 October).  This is an annual week of activity to raise awareness of hospice care across the UK. The theme this year is ‘This is what it takes’ and we are taking this opportunity to shine a spotlight on ‘what it takes’ to run our hospice and provide vital care services.    More information can be found here.

Our Wick shop is a mini department store with something for everyone – furniture, white goods, bric-a-brac, toys, games and books.  They also have clothing for ladies, gents and children. The shop can also collect and deliver large items of furniture.

It is open 7 days a week and is situated at 68-70 Wick Street, Wick, BN17 7JS.  01903 725278.  Details on all our shops can be found here.
