20th birthday celebrations at St Barnabas House Wick shop

Tuesday 15 October 2019

pics wick 20th party oct 19 (21)Our St Barnabas House shop in Wick celebrated their 20th birthday recently with a party.  Among the guests was The Mayor of Littlehampton, Councillor Tracey Baker, who joined trustees, staff, volunteers, customers and supporters.  Our friendly mascot, Barnabee also popped along to join in the fun.

The highlight of the afternoon was the performance by the year 7-11 dance students from The Littlehampton Academy who treated us to a surprise flash mob routine.

Shop Manager, Suzanne Bennett said: “We all agreed the performance from The Littlehampton Academy was outstanding and it was wonderful to experience the energy and enthusiasm and to see how hard the girls had worked to perform so well.  We’d like to say a big thank you”.

“Thank you also to everyone who came along to celebrate with us at the party and for your support for the shop over the last 20 years”.

The event was also a chance to celebrate with four of the shop’s longstanding volunteers who were presented with their awards by The Mayor.  Barbara Greaves has been with us 20 years and volunteers with her husband Roy who has been with us for 10 years.  They both joined the Mayor in cutting the cake.  Volunteers Ralph Wadey who has been with us for 15 years and Jon Langley for 5 years were also presented with their badges.

Our Wick shop is a mini department store with something for everyone – furniture, white goods, bric-a-brac, toys, games and books.  They also have clothing for ladies, gents and children. The shop can also collect and deliver large items of furniture.

It is open 7 days a week and is situated at 68-70 Wick Street, Wick, BN17 7JS.  01903 725278.  Details on all our shops can be found here.
