Shoreham charity shop celebrates its first birthday

Monday 28 October 2019

Our St Barnabas House hospice shop in Shoreham opened last year and we are celebrating with a party on Thursday 7 November from 2pm.  Everyone is invited to come along.

Joining us will be Councillor George Barton, Chairman of Adur District Council together with guests, staff, volunteers, customers and supporters.  We will also have a visit from Barnabee, our St Barnabas House hospice mascot.  The party will have a nautical feel to celebrate Shoreham’s long maritime history and there will be a themed birthday cake.

Head of Retail, Jan Harper said: “Shoreham is our newest shop and from the first day the local community have supported us with their warm welcome and generous donations.”

“Each week, our incredible team of staff and volunteers process and sell over 500 items.  All this work means the shop will raise enough funds this year to provide 200 days of respite care for a patient through our Hospice at Home service.”

“Our customers and donors are not only supporting local hospice care but are also recycling on a large scale”.

The shop sells a range of items including; clothing, accessories, shoes, handbags, bric-a-brac and books. There is also a children’s corner selling clothes, toys and games.

Open 7 days a week, it is situated at 46 High Street, Shoreham by Sea BN43 5DA. 01273 453083.  Details on all our shops can be found here.
