Staff, volunteers and supporters at the St Barnabas House charity shop in Shoreham High Street celebrated their first anniversary with a party.
With a nautical theme to celebrate Shoreham’s maritime history, there was a stunning window display and some of the staff and volunteers entered into the spirit in fancy dress.
Among the guests were Councillor George Barton, The Chair of Adur District Council, and Mrs Vee Barton who both joined in the fun and did some shopping whilst they were there.
Councillor Barton and shop Manager, Natalie Harding, cut the cake to mark the celebrations. Rosemarie Finley, the hospice’s CEO, gave a speech and thanked the staff, volunteers and customers for their support in making the shop such a success.
Head of Retail, Jan Harper said: “Each week, the staff and volunteers process and sell over 500 items. All this work means the shop will raise enough funds this year to provide 200 days of respite care for a patient through our Hospice at Home service.”
“We’ve got an amazing team of volunteers and generous supporters and this was a wonderful opportunity for us to say thank you to everyone.”
The shop sells a range of items including; clothing, accessories, shoes, handbags, bric-a-brac and books. There is also a children’s corner selling clothes, toys and games. Open 7 days a week, it is situated at 46 High Street, Shoreham by Sea BN43 5DA. 01273 453083. Details on all our shops can be found here.
