Join team Fit Feb and get active for St Barnabas House

CEO Rosemarie Finley

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the year ahead. Judging by the people I’ve seen out walking or jogging over the last couple of days, it looks like many of you have made a New Year’s resolution to be more active!

My New Year’s resolution, and that of everyone at St Barnabas House, is to reach more people and provide the very best in hospice care, because we believe that anyone facing terminal illness should receive the care and support they deserve. On a personal level, my goal is to try new things and get fitter. This year, I’m going to attempt to walk a mile a day throughout February by taking part in Fit Feb for St Barnabas.

Fit Feb is a brand new campaign for anyone looking to kick-start 2020 in a positive way, whilst raising funds for the hospice. I’ve decided to walk, but you can run, swim or choose your favourite fitness activity. Just complete a mile each day, and keep a log as you go.

Whether you’re new to exercise or want to up your fitness regime, it’s up to you where you take on the challenge – from your back garden, to along the seafront, in the gym, or with your dog on the Downs. By raising sponsorship, every step, splash or stride you take will go towards ensuring local people are supported and cared for throughout their journey with a terminal illness. You can join team Fit Feb at any point during January by visiting www.stbh.org.uk/fitfeb.

As we head into 2020, I’d like to wish you all a positive start to the New Year and to say thank you to anyone who has supported the hospice in 2019 or is planning to do so in the year ahead.
