Des Lynam encourages you to help Save our Services

Wednesday 29 April 2020

Former television presenter and St Barnabas House supporter Des Lynam is supporting our crisis appeal, and encourages you to do the same.

Des Lynam

“St Barnabas House, your local hospice, is struggling in the current coronavirus crisis,” he said.

“They have increased the number of beds at the hospice and the Community Team are doing their best to support patients in their own homes and to try and ease the burden on their NHS colleagues.

“They have had to close their Day Hospice, community fundraising events and activities have been cancelled, their charity shops have been forced to close, income has plummeted.

“The maths is simple. It costs £700,000 a month to run St Barnabas House. And right now they are losing 70% of their fundraising income a month. It is only a matter of time before they run out of money.

“Anything you can give today will help close that gap, keep their vital services running and make sure St Barnabas is still open when this crisis is over.”
