New St Barnabas House charity shop opens at Lyons Farm

Tuesday 27 April 2021

Our charity shops have never been more important and we are delighted that all our shops are now open again including our new shop at Lyons Farm Retail Park in Worthing, next to Sainsbury’s.

Lyons Farm charity shopHead of Retail, Jan Harper said: “St Barnabas House, like many charities, has been hugely impacted by the pandemic. The closure of our charity shops and the cancellation of fundraising events has meant a huge drop in income, and at the same time, our Community and Hospice at Home teams have seen their caseloads increase by 50% as they cared for more patients in their own homes.

“The shops are vital to St Barnabas House in raising money and also in raising awareness in the high street of the valuable work we do, and we are proud to open a new shop in the heart of the St Barnabas House area. Lyons Farm will make a significant immediate contribution to funds enabling us to continue with our care services.

“For our retail shops to succeed, we rely on support from the local community, and we would like to thank them for their warm welcome and generous donations so far.

“Looking ahead, our shops continue to be safe shopping environments offering quality items for sale at competitive prices, everything from pre-loved designer and high street clothing, accessories, and handbags to books, bric-a-brac and electrical items.”

We are looking for volunteers to help establish our newest shop. If you are interested in volunteering either at Lyons Farm or in one of our other shops, please contact the Voluntary Services Team on 01903 706315 or email volunteeers@stbh.org.uk.

We have received many donations since re-opening and are very grateful for all good quality items suitable to sell in the shops. However, due to shortage of space in our shops and warehouse, please call before making your journey to ensure that we can accept your donations. Contact details for all our shops are on our website.
