Volunteer Spotlight – Autumn 2021

This month’s Volunteer Spotlight is on the Walker family who are volunteering at this year’s Night to Remember on Saturday 11 September.

Mum Anne says: “I’d regularly been a walker in Night to Remember until one year I was unable to take part because I’d had an operation. I was delighted when, instead, I could support the event by volunteering. We’ve been involved that way ever since and have gone on to help at other events too. Taking part together is important to me, children should have the opportunity to ’give back’ something to their community. I love being part of the team that creates the atmosphere that makes the event so special.”

Dad Steve says: “It’s such a well organised event and I enjoy cheering on the walkers, many of them are doing it in-memory of a loved one, so it’s a real privilege to be a small part of their journey. Our daughter Robyn loves how friendly everyone is and particularly enjoys running the tombola with us.”

Thank you to the Walker family for all their support! If you’re interested in volunteering for the Night to Remember there’s still roles available
