Our Board of Trustees are all volunteers. They are responsible for the governance of the charity, overseeing and guiding the work of the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team.
Jill Carnie has worked in the private sector for over 40 years, starting her career in engineering and then moving into financial services in the early eighties. She spent 20 years working for Sun Alliance (which later became Royal & Sun Alliance) in senior marketing and business development roles and became a statutory Director of the Company in 1998. During her time at R&SA she also spent time abroad, helping overseas subsidiaries set up direct marketing departments.
In 2003, she left to become Managing Director of an underwriting company in the City and then decided to set up her own management consultancy until she retired two years ago.
A warm welcome to Jill Carnie, our new Trustee she is a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing and a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Since 2011, Jill has been a Trustee of the Springboard Project in Horsham and served as Chairman for three years, ending December 2017. She has enjoyed this role immensely, helping children and young people achieve their goals, and would like to continue to use her business experience to help where she can.
Jill very much appreciates all that St Barnabas and Chestnut Tree House do for the community and would like to use her skills to help develop the vital services we provide.
Jill is married, has one son and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include travelling, walking the dogs, skiing and music – and she also loves motor racing.
