Our Board of Trustees are all volunteers. They are responsible for the governance of the charity, overseeing and guiding the work of the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team.
Tony Clark has just retired as Chairman and Director of ECE Architecture, an architectural practice which he set up with three other Directors in 1991. He was Chairman for some 10 years and during that time the practice grew steadily and now has offices in Worthing, London and Bristol and employs some 64 staff. As Chairman, Tony had the overall responsibility for the running of the practice and dealt with the finances, HR matters and all general management issues, as well as managing construction projects from £500,000 for £40m in the residential, commercial and educational fields.
Tony is currently employed with the practice as a consultant on a one day a week basis to assist with the management of projects, giving general advice to the Directors as required and managing the practice’s Quality Assurance system.
Since his retirement, Tony has been appointed as a Governor of Steyning Grammar School and is now able to spend more time on his other interests of golf, classic cars, DIY and his grandchildren.
He says: “Having, through the architectural practice, worked with and supported both St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House, he is now delighted to be able to have the opportunity to be fully involved and help with both these tremendous organisations.”
