Our Chief Executive and Senior Management Team (SMT) members support the Board of Trustees, leading the charity’s operations and overseeing the day to day running of both hospices – St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House. Heading up the various departments within the charity, the SMT meets regularly to review organisational performance, manage the implementation of strategy and agree policy.
Becki started her career with a short stint in the corporate world before moving over to the charity sector where she’s spent the last 20 years working in a variety of fundraising and communications roles. Becki has worked in a number of national charities, including the Prince’s Trust and the Alzheimer’s Society, and more recently in the global charity sector spending 8 years at WWF where she had a number of roles across supporter recruitment and innovation. Her most recent role was at Sightsavers, the international development agency, where she managed fundraising across Europe and India. Becki says “The role at St Barnabas Hospices is the first time in my career that I have the privilege of being able to raise money in the community that my family and I live. It is rare as a fundraiser to be able to do that and I won’t underestimate the responsibility that this holds”.
Outside of work Becki is a governor of the local infants school, and pretends to be an accountant for her husband’s music business. She lives in Hassocks with her husband, son, dog and cat.
