Leaving a charitable legacy in your Will to St Barnabas House not only provides personal comfort, but it supports everything the hospice does. We run an annual Make a Will Month every October which offers help to people when making a Will.
St Barnabas House is very reliant on the generosity of the local community. Our most important source of income is the support we receive from individuals, and gifts in Wills contribute the most.
In fact, the care costs of 1 in every 4 of the people we support are completely funded by gifts in Wills.
“As a hospice volunteer for over 10 years, I’ve seen first hand how much the gifts people leave in their Wills benefit those we care for and their families.
“They have helped the hospice and its specialist services evolve and expand to meet the needs of the growing community, ensuring people receive expert care and support as they reach the end of their lives – either here at St Barnabas House or in their own homes.
“The choice and quality of care local people have today just wouldn’t be possible without the thoughtful, lasting gifts left by others in their Wills, and that’s something I want to be part of.
“Sadly, none of my loved ones had an easy passing, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. That’s what made me decide to leave a gift to St Barnabas House in my Will. Death is inevitable – we all know that. But ensuring people receive dignity, care and comfort at the time they need it most is a gift I want to give. I hope you will too.”
