This October, St Barnabas House is joining with hospices across the UK to celebrate Hospice Care Week.
Taking place from 5-11 October 2020, Hospice Care Week is about flying the flag for the compassionate care that UK hospices provide, whilst addressing the misconceptions and fears many people have about them. It’s also your chance to get involved with your local hospice.
Following the Hospice Care Week theme, ‘This is What it Takes’, we’ll be taking to social media to provide you with a look behind the scenes at all of the work that goes into funding and providing free hospice care to almost 2,000 local people each year. As well as hearing directly from patients and families, there will also be opportunities to ask the care team questions about the hospice and send messages of support.
It takes the whole community to provide hospice care – from volunteering in our charity shops to taking on daring challenges, every person who does something for St Barnabas is helping deliver expert care, in the hospice and in patients’ homes. You can get involved in Hospice Care Week by:
Tune in to our St Barnabas House Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages during Hospice Care Week and watch videos and view posts that shine a spotlight on ‘what it takes’ to run our hospice and provide vital care services. Get involved by sharing posts and commenting using the hashtag #HospiceCareWeek.
To celebrate Hospice Care Week we asked Laura, Tracy, Linzi and Kate to read out some of your heart-warming letters that mean so much to them and the rest of the team.
