Top tips to get you fundraising

It doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated – many of our fundraisers hold small events at school or at work such as dressing differently for a day, car washing or auctioning off the boss.

  • Research first: Have a look over our Easy ways to fundraise page to get inspiration.
  • Let us know: We’re here to help – let us know what you’re planning and we’ll do all we can to make it a success!
  • Get sponsored: Ask family, friends and colleagues if they would be prepared to join in with your event or sponsor you. JustGiving is an easy way to set up your sponsorship online.
  • Think about the logistics: Book the date and venue well in advance, and don’t be afraid to use people’s skills and experience to help you.
  • Get the word out there: Publicise your event using social media, posters, leaflets, local press and word-of-mouth. We can help you with that too, have a look over our fundraising materials page for more information.
  • Keep the buzz going: Tell people afterwards how much money you raised, and how grateful you are for their support.
