Get involved

There’s so many ways you can get involved and support St Barnabas House.

Individuals, groups and clubs

Individual or group fundraisers organise and participate in all sorts of events and activities, from coffee mornings and craft sales to overseas treks and parachute jumps.

It doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated – many of our fundraisers hold small events at school or at work such as dressing differently for a day, car washing or auctioning off the boss.

Some supporters have beautiful gardens which they open to the public whilst others organise sponsored walks, slims, silences and hair shaves! You can be as ambitious as you like.

Chloe Dayneswood and family (pictured here) organised a music evening with a grand raffle, with many fantastic prizes, which she and her family had sourced from local businesses.

Below are some top tips to help make your fundraising great fun and raise lots of money:

  • Before organising your event, do some research and find out how much interest there is for it.
  • Ask family, friends and colleagues if they would be prepared to join in with your event or sponsor you.
  • Book the date and venue well in advance.
  • Use people’s skills and experience.
  • Start small and make it a bigger event next year.
  • Publicise your event using facebook, twitter, posters, leaflets, the internet, local press and word-of-mouth. We can help you with that too.
  • Tell people afterwards how much money you raised.
