There’s so many ways you can get involved and support St Barnabas House.

Light Up a Life 2018

Remember your loved ones and support St Barnabas House by taking part in this year’s Light Up a Life service celebration.

Each year at Christmas time, through our Light Up a Life Appeal, St Barnabas House provides the local community with the opportunity to join together to remember and celebrate the lives and memories of their loved ones.

As part of Light Up a Life you can remember your loved ones by including their names in a specially printed commemorative programme that is the Order of Service at our Light Up a Life services in December.

Why Cindy is celebrating Light Up a Life

Cindy’s husband, Terry, was cared for by St Barnabas at the end of his life.

Cindy said: “Walking through St Barnabas’ door is like walking into heaven. That’s how it felt to me. It felt like I could feel somebody taking the weight off my shoulders. It was like ‘at last!’ because I had no help before. I wanted to be Terry’s carer but I was exhausted. At St Barnabas, I stayed with Terry the whole time. The staff were wonderful. Everybody’s got so much compassion there.”

Light Up a Life services

You are warmly invited to join us, together with your friends and family, at one of our Light Up a Life services on Monday 10 December at 4.30pm and 7pm at Worthing Assembly Hall. Everyone who joins us at one of the services will receive a special Light Up a Life candle to be lit at home in memory of a loved one.

Light Up a Life 2016If you are unable to attend one of the services, but would still like a candle, you can collect one from St Barnabas House in Titnore Lane, Worthing, or from any of our St Barnabas House charity shops.

We also invite everyone attending to bring along a photo of their loved one, which can then be displayed on our ‘Memory Wall’ in the refreshments area of the Assembly Hall after each service. This collection of images and faces is an inspirational and positive addition to this poignant occasion.

St Barnabas, and the care we provide, only exists because of donations from generous local people like you. So any contribution you are able to make with your dedication will be gratefully received from all of us here at the hospice.

If you wish to include the name of a loved one in the Order of Service at the Light Up a Life services please let us know before Friday 16 November 2018, so that we have time to place your dedication in the specially printed programme.
