Remember your loved ones and support St Barnabas House by taking part in this year’s Light Up a Life service celebration.
Each year at Christmas time, through our Light Up a Life Appeal, St Barnabas House provides the local community with the opportunity to join together to remember and celebrate the lives and memories of their loved ones.
As part of Light Up a Life you can remember your loved ones by including their names in a specially printed commemorative programme that is the Order of Service at our Light Up a Life services in December.
If you would like to make a dedication as part of this year’s Light Up a Life Appeal, please print and return a donation form.
Nina’s husband, Alan, was cared for by St Barnabas at the end of his life.
Nina said: “The Hospice at Home Team from St Barnabas were visiting us at home because Alan didn’t want to go into the hospice. It had got to the point where, because he was bed-bound, he needed a lot of care. The Hospice at Home Team were just so special. They never rushed. They used to do everything. The nurses were so lovely. They would remember silly little details that you wouldn’t even think of. It’s such a personal touch they provide. And it wasn’t just Alan they were looking after – it was all of us.”
You are warmly invited to join us, together with your friends and family, at one of our Light Up a Life services on Monday 9 December at 4.30pm and 7pm at Worthing Assembly Hall. Everyone who joins us at one of the services will receive a special Light Up a Life candle to be lit at home in memory of a loved one.
If you are unable to attend one of the services, but would still like a candle, you can collect one from St Barnabas House in Titnore Lane, Worthing, or from any of our St Barnabas House charity shops.
We also invite everyone attending to bring along a photo of their loved one, which can then be displayed on our ‘Memory Wall’ in the refreshments area of the Assembly Hall after each service. This collection of images and faces is an inspirational and positive addition to this poignant occasion.
St Barnabas, and the care we provide, only exists because of donations from generous local people like you. So any contribution you are able to make with your dedication will be gratefully received from all of us here at the hospice.
If you wish to include the name of a loved one in the Order of Service at the Light Up a Life services please let us know before Friday 15 November 2019, so that we have time to place your dedication in the specially printed programme.
