There’s so many ways you can get involved and support St Barnabas House.


Volunteer HR Administrator

We are looking for a volunteer to help scan and save our documentation, as well as provide general administrative tasks to the HR team.


The role will involve:

  • Scanning and filing documentation
  • Any additional administrative support to the team

  • Receive free training which will include an Introduction to the Hospice, Health and Safety Awareness and relevant on the job training

Your skills:

  • A willingness to learn (Some of these skills you will already have and some may require training, which we will provide for you including any training on our software).
  • Ability to undertake tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to work on your own or part of our team
  • Reliable and good time-keeping
  • Ability to use additional office equipment including the photocopier
  • Additional office skills such as filing
  • An insight into palliative care


  • Approval by the Disclosure and Barring Service. This check will be carried out by the hospice
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Any personal grief resolved and not be a service-user now or in past-six months
