We are so excited that Night to Remember will be back for 2021. Read below for more info and support if you’re looking to volunteer with us either before the event or on the night.Register to volunteer
There are a huge number of roles that we need your help with and you can volunteer for more than one role as long as the timings work out. You can even volunteer with a friend or family member if you would like to.
Below is a list of all the pre-event volunteer roles, and the roles available on the night itself.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved with before the event takes place and each of them plays a key part to the night.
Calling previous walkers to let them know that registration is now open for this year. You will need access to a mobile phone and computer to help with this opportunity.
Manning a promo stand out in the community to hand out leaflets and let passers know about the event. We will provide all the equipment that you need, along with full details.
Would you like to take some time to head into Worthing and ask the local shops if they would be happy to display a poster for the event?
Posting flyers through residential areas in Adur. Ideally you will need to work in pairs for this role and be happy to be out walking.
Do you have good handwriting? We are looking for volunteers to help hand write good luck postcards to our walkers. This task will need to be carried out in July and August.
Based at the hospice car park and handing out t-shirts to the walkers
You will be given everything that you need to carry out any of the above tasks, all we ask for is some good old enthusiasm! If you would like any more information about any of the roles then please get in touch.
Saturday 11 September – Sunday 12 September
Being part of the amazing atmosphere that is created on the night really is a joy! Seeing over 900 supporters all together, united to walk through the night to enable hospice care to continue is a sight to behold, so why not join us and experience it for yourself. Have a look and see how you can get involved.
Being out on route to help guide our walkers in the right direction is a vital role. Can you offer encouragement and support to our walkers on their journey? All marshal points are manned by two volunteers.
You will be out on route checking that all the marshals are okay and have everything that they need. You will need to be a car owner and driver for this role.
Love to walk? Love to dance? This year walkers have the option to have a silent disco whilst out walking. We are looking at someone to join them and keep the party going. You will be carrying the transmitter to broadcast the music, and will need to be confident to walk at a steady pace. You will not be expected to run the silent disco for the whole walk.
Would you like to help get everything ready at Worthing Leisure Centre? If so we would love to hear from you. This is a busy role and will require some lifting.
If you are an early riser? Why not come along and help clear down the event on Sunday 12 September.
Are you able to help at the volunteer desk and making sure that everybody has everything that they need?
Welcoming all our event participants to the venue is such an important part of the night. With a cheery face and a welcoming smile are you able to be the first point of contact?
Barnabee has been in lockdown for over a year and is desperate to get out again! You must have had mascot training to take on this role but if you have we would love to hear from you.
This role involves helping any walkers who have lost or forgotten their walker numbers. You will also be helping out with any general enquiries.
We know how much our walkers love to get dressed up on the night and have some fun! Manning the glow product stall will be a key part in this happening.
Any walkers that haven’t been able to collect their t-shirt before the 11 September will be able to collect on the night.
Who doesn’t love a bag of sweets whilst out on a walk! The sweet stand was donated to us by a volunteer specifically for Night to Remember so manning it is pretty special!
Can you help to manage a queue and direct walkers? This could be the job for you!
As the walkers arrive they all need to be registered in and this is where you come in!
All walkers who were registered going out in their walk will need to be registered back in once they have finished.
Be at the start line and watch everyone leave as they take on their challenge. You will be given signage to hold to help everyone get ready for the off!
Could you hand out medals and offer cheers of encouragement as our walkers return
Being part of the car park team is a vital role for this event, would you like to get involved?
