We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers for very generously giving us their time. They are absolutely vital and we could not operate without them.
Our volunteers are absolutely vital to the running of the hospice. We certainly could not operate without the generous gift of their time and experience. Every year, our volunteers donate hours of their time, saving St Barnabas House thousands of pounds. In the last year our hospice-based volunteers provided 37,065 hours of support, which was worth £534,505 to the organisation.
Every year, we hold Volunteer Celebration Evenings – our way of saying thank you. Volunteers join us from all different areas of the hospices to celebrate together with staff and fellow volunteers. They enjoy drinks and canapés, and a brief update on the hospices is given. Some volunteers receive their long service awards, and a good time is had by all!
“We would not be able to do what we do to support our patients and their families without our volunteers. These evenings are a great opportunity to speak to so many of our volunteers, hear their stories and learn about how they, and often their families too, became involved with the hospice. Thank you to all of our volunteers for their dedication and support.”
