Volunteer Administrators (Research Interest Group)

Our Research Interest Group is actively working to increase our charity’s research capacity and capability. We are looking for motivated people with good, accurate administrative skills to support the team with their meetings and day-to-day administration.

Why we want you:

Administration contributes to a large part of our organisation and we need your good presentation and accurate administration skills to assist our Research Interest Group.

The Role Will Involve:

  • Organising team meetings, preparing agenda and taking notes, circulating to the team
  • Maintenance of the group’s platform (Microsoft Teams)
  • Group forum moderator (Intranet)
  • Act as a champion for the group
  • Email correspondence
  • We will provide you with induction training which will include an Introduction to the Hospice, Health and Safety Awareness and relevant on the job training.

Your skills:

  • A willingness to learn (Some of these skills you will already have and some may require training, which we will provide for you including any training on our software)
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Concise and accurate message taking
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to work on your own or part of our team
  • Reliable and good time-keeping
  • Ability to use additional office equipment including the photocopier and scanner
  • An insight into palliative care

Mandatory requirements:

  • You will also need to have been approved by the Disclosure System (check carried out by the hospice)
  • You should understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Any personal grief must be resolved
