An Introduction to Palliative Care

About the course

The aim of this session is to provide an opportunity to explore the principles and philosophy of palliative care.

The session will:

Define “palliative care”
Discuss the philosophy and principles of the palliative care approach
Explain when it might be appropriate to introduce palliative care into the patient journey
Identify some of the guidance and frameworks that influence palliative care provision
Introduce members of the multi-disciplinary team at St Barnabas House
Attendees will also be given a tour of St Barnabas House.

This is free for any Health & Social Care Student or Professional who wishes to understand more about Palliative Care and the role of the Hospice.
