An Introduction to Palliative Care

About the course

The aim of this session is to provide an opportunity to explore the principles and philosophy of palliative care.
The session will:

• Define “Palliative care”
• Discuss the philosophy and principles of the palliative care approach
• Explain when it might be appropriate to introduce palliative care into the patient journey
• Identify some of the guidance and frameworks that influence palliative care provision
• Introduce members of the multi-disciplinary team at St Barnabas House
• Attendees will also be given a tour of St Barnabas House.

Who should attend?

This is free for any Health & Social Care Student or Professional who wishes to understand more about Palliative Care and the role of the Hospice.
