Bereavement, loss and grief in adults

About the course

This half study day can be used as a refresher for the principles of supporting bereaved adults or to gain knowledge. The focus will be on ensuring, following the death of someone close to them, people will be supported during the bereavement process. It is anticipated that group discussions will feature as part of this short course, linking theory to practice with relevant signposting.

Learning outcomes:

  • Discuss theories that inform our understanding of grief and loss
  • Describe how people can be supported through the bereavement process
  • Reflect on how we build resilience
