Palliative and end of life long-term conditions

About the course

The aim of this course is to expand attendees understanding of how early intervention of Palliative Care, from the wide range of services potentially involved in a patient’s disease trajectory, can improve their quality of life and other patient outcomes.

Learning outcomes:

  • The underpinning principles of Palliative Care
  • The dying process and recognising the signs of dying
  • The resources and teams that collaborate in West Sussex to support PEoLC
    patients in hospital and in the community
  • Holistic assessment and challenging conversations that support parallel
    planning and ACP

Who should attend?

Services within the catchment areas of St Barnabas House, who deliver care or will potentially support patients with long-term conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, GPs, Paramedics, ECHO and One-Call staff, and Community Nurses
