About the course

The study day will provide an introduction and overview of local policy specific to ‘Verification of Expected Death’ and consider the registered nurse’s role and the coroner’s perspective. It will also consider related communication, legal and ethical issues, record keeping and documentation, and bereavement support for relatives. There will be an assessment of each student’s practical skill of VOEAD to ascertain knowledge gained.

The course provides a certificate of attendance. Full competency will need to be gained within the student’s own clinical setting and is the individual professional’s responsibility to complete.
