Full time – 37.5 hours per week


£4.81- £9.50 per hour (pay will vary depending on age)

About the role

Horticulture and Landscape Apprentice – Level 2

Our Grounds Team play a vital role ensuring the general upkeep and the aesthetics of the gardens are always at their best. We take pride in the environment in which we operate, and it is the Garden Apprentice responsibility to ensure that the visual aspect of the gardens and grounds are in keeping with special requirements of the hospice and are always welcoming and safe. Ensuring that the Patients and family members & staff all have an opportunity to enjoy different areas of the gardens that suit their needs.

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Able to work on their own initiative and must have good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety at work, manual handling
  • Ability to prioritize is essential
  • A full driving license is required for this role

Key points about the programme:

  • Must have GCSE English and Maths at Level 1 – must achieve level 2 and this can be done whilst doing the apprenticeship
  • Must be able to work in the UK
  • Open to anyone aged 17 or over
  • No experience required
  • You will gain a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard award in Horticulture & Landscape Operative (Provider will be Brinsbury college) Find out about the Apprentice standard. 
  • Programme duration is 24 months (with block release to college)
