Thank you for your interest in working for St Barnabas House hospice in West Sussex. We have a range of jobs available at the hospice, or in our charity shops.

Shifts: Evenings 5pm-8pm – Weekends 9am-1pm/1pm-5pm/5pm-8pm
St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care, day hospice and community care.
We are looking for a highly experienced receptionist, preferably with experience in a similar working environment. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of care and compassion and be able to remain calm under pressure.
As the first point of contact for all visitors and callers to the hospice, you will need to be professional, empathic and sensitive in your approach. You will be responsible for providing a first-class support service to meet the operational requirements of the hospice and manage a team of trained volunteers.
Confidentiality and sensitivity are at the heart of the role along with excellent communication and listening skills, as you will sometimes be dealing with difficult and sensitive situations. The role also requires that you provide administrative support to the wider hospice and therefore the ability to demonstrate high levels of accuracy, strong admin skills and a can-do approach is essential. You must have the flexibility to work as part of a team providing cover for sickness and annual leave.
For an informal chat about the role, please contact Jo Rainbird on 01903 706338

An enhanced DBS will be sought, if you are successful in this role. As an employer we expect all staff and volunteers to share our commitment to safeguarding.
