Social Worker

Hours: 30 Hours – Initial Fixed Term Contract – 1 year
Salary: £24,728 - £27,496 depending on depth and variety of experience in a similar role FTE £30,910 - £34,370

St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care, day hospice and community care.

We are looking for an experienced social worker who will provide a social work service to patients and their families, particularly in the community, working closely with other members of the Family Services Team and the hospice’s multi-professional team

You will need to be a confident and competent social worker with excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work with adults and children.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking psychosocial assessments of the needs and resources of patients and their family members
  • Providing ongoing psychological support, advice and information to patients and their families, primarily in the community
  • Working with individuals and other family groupings
  • Engaging in group support for children
  • Liaising with other care providers and organisations for the benefit of your clients
