Your abseiling challenge is just around the corner, and we are as excited as Santa Claus on Christmas eve, sipping on eggnog while chimney-surfing!

Location

When you arrive head to the Brighton i360 entrance which is located on the promenade next to the main road. There will be sail flags outside the entrance so you can find us and friendly volunteers ready to give you a festive welcome that’s warmer than a cup of hot chocolate!

What to expect

After you have registered, you’ll head to the pod with your fellow thrill seekers to begin your ascent. The Brighton i360 team will organise your harnesses, deliver a safety briefing and be on hand throughout your experience.

Team St B will be on the ground ready to celebrate you and your extraordinary feat!

Timings:

    • You have been allocated a time slot, please get in touch if you don’t know yours!
    • Please arrive 30 minutes prior to this time. This will give you enough time to register, make sure your holiday outfit is ‘sleighin’ it, and for those last-minute “Jingle-all-the-way” bathroom breaks before your harnesses are cinched up.
    • We recommend allowing up to 2.5 hours for your entire experience.

Parking info:

    • Park and Ride is available locally until 11.40pm and is located at Withdean Sports Centre (postcode BN1 5JD). There is no charge for parking, bus fees apply.
    • To avoid traffic hot spots, you are advised to approach Brighton i360 from the west. Parking is available in Regency Square Car Park, directly opposite Brighton i360  (postcode BN1 2FG) which has 507 spaces including some spots for your electric sleigh, oops, vehicle!
    • Prices can be found here: https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/parking-and-travel/parking/regency-square-car-park

What to wear:

  • Comfortable warm clothes and trainers are perfect for your abseil. Remember, it will be late November and you may have a few minutes to wait for your drop, so bring along cozy layers to have under your Santa Suit.
  • Avoid loose clothing and tie any long hair back to make sure things don’t get caught in the abseil harness equipment.  Avoid leather shoes without any tread or shoes with heels. Refusal to wear appropriate footwear will result in you not being allowed to abseil.
  • We will provide your Santa suit, however, if you wish to wear your own festive fancy dress then you are of course welcome, so long as your outfit follows the above rules.
  • It will be dark when you abseil so it might be an idea to attach some lights to your costume, that way your supporters will know when you are on your way down and have their loudest cheers at the ready!

Toilets:

There are toilets located on the boarding deck of the i360 platform which can be used before and after your drop. There are no toilets in the pod.

Supporters

We would love you to bring along your cheer squad! Friends and family are of course welcome to come and support you. Please remember you can bring up to 5 supporters with you. It is likely to be a bit chilly so just remind them to bundle up warm as the viewing area is outside.
