The St Barnabas House Community Palliative Care Team are a team of nurse specialists and doctors who work alongside your GP, district nurse, and other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
A team of nurse specialists and doctors, the Community Team aim to provide a high quality service of hospice care to help in managing symptoms, family support and supporting psychological and emotional needs that may occur as a result of your illness.
The Community Team are based at and employed by St Barnabas House. While they undertake a similar role, please note that they are not funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.
The clinical admin team, who are likely to be your first point of contact with the Community Team, support them. They can visit you at home, in a rest or nursing home, or in a local community hospital. Alternatively, you can choose to be seen at the hospice.
They work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and also provide an urgent service from 9am to 5pm at weekends and Bank Holidays.

They can liaise with others involved in your care, if you are admitted to Worthing Hospital for symptoms related to your illness.
You can ring the hospice on 01903 706350 during office hours. If a nurse is not available you can leave a message with a member of the Clinical Admin Team or on the answerphone. A member of the Community Team will contact you as soon as possible.
If you are calling out of hours and you are a patient registered with echo, please call 01903 254789 and carefully listen to all of the options before selecting echo.
If you are not registered on echo please ring the main hospice switchboard on 01903 706300 if calling out of hours.
