When a family member or someone close to you is diagnosed with a serious illness, it can be a distressing, frightening and a lonely time, therefore we provide family support at St Barnabas House as part of our hospice care.
Our social workers can offer emotional support and a range of practical information and advice. They can also help you access appropriate care following a stay on the ward.
Our counsellors can provide emotional support and counselling to you, your family or carer, meeting with you as individuals or together, either at the hospice or in your home.
A member of our chaplaincy team can spend time with you and your family or carer if you want to talk about the emotional and spiritual impact of your illness. A service takes place each Friday afternoon in the hospice Chapel to which all are invited.
