Volunteering opportunities

Even if you only have a few hours to spare, you can make a big difference.

Your volunteering journey starts here!

Volunteers provide 100s of hours of support every year, by giving your time, expertise and enthusiasm you’re providing precious resources that we need. Whatever your experience level, whatever time you can give – there’s the perfect role waiting for you!

You could be volunteering in our shops, helping customers find the perfect item for them – or at our warehouse sorting through the pre-loved items ready to find new homes! Or if befriending is more your thing you could join our Community Companions team, who visit patients in their own homes and provide company and support.

You’ll be able to filter by location and type of volunteering to find the perfect role for you! Some opportunities are volunteer roles that apply to St Barnabas House and our sister hospice Chestnut Tree House – all opportunities are labelled with which hospice you’ll be volunteering for.

Already a volunteer?

If you've previously volunteered for Chestnut Tree House or St Barnabas House - then you'll be familiar with Assemble, the platform we use to make it quick and easy to sign up for our volunteer roles. You just need to sign in to Assemble and you can take off where you left off - there's no need to fill in any more personal details.
