What items you can donate

Donate your pre-loved items and make a difference to local people needing hospice care.

Thank you for choosing to donate to us. Our shops raise over £1 million every year towards hospice care, and we couldn’t do it without your fantastic donated items. Find out what our shops are looking for:

We can accept clean good quality:

  • Clothes – all sizes, men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. Vintage items are welcome too
  • Wedding dresses – as well as prom dresses, evening wear and occasion outfits
  • Shoes, handbags, and accessories – including non-prescription sunglasses
  • Games, toys (with a CE mark), and puzzles
  • Bric-a-brac – such as small ornaments, kitchenware and decorative items
  • Books – paperbacks
  • Furniture – upholstered and soft furnishings must have current fire labels
  • Large electricals – such as washing machines and fridges (in full working order)
  • Smaller electrical goods – such as kettles and TVs (in full working order)

If the item you want to donate isn’t on the list – we may still be able to accept it. There are some other items that we cannot sell for safety or legal reasons, but if in doubt, please call the warehouse or ask your local shop before making your journey.

We ask only for good quality items that are in a saleable condition (for instance- nothing broken, dirty or incomplete) because it costs us money to dispose of any donations we’re unable to sell. We also ask you not to leave donations outside our charity shops, as we’re unable to sell these items.

Find your nearest shop to drop off your items

We have shops across the Worthing area where you can drop off your items. Please make sure to the shop to check they have capacity. Some of our shops get very full and we can't accept any more donations for health and safety reasons. Any large items should be dropped off at our Retail Distribution Centre.

Don’t forget Gift Aid

Every item you donate to us could be worth 25% more at no extra cost to you! When you drop off your donation you’ll be asked if you want to Gift Aid it. If you’re a UK tax payer you’re eligible to claim Gift Aid, which will allow us to collect an extra 25% on the sale of your donated items. You can print off and fill in the Gift Aid form and hand it in when you drop off your donation.
