Leave a gift in your Will

Give care and support to local people with life-limiting conditions, through a gift in your Will.

Thank you for considering leaving us a gift in your Will.

A gift to St Barnabas House – no matter how small or big – goes a long way. Our most important source of income is the support and donations we receive from individuals. In fact, the care costs of 1 in every 4 people we support are completely funded by gifts in Wills.

There are lots of reasons why people choose to leave us a gift in their Will. Whatever leads to your decision, your kindness and consideration for others is something we cherish and never forget. We simply couldn’t continue our vital work without you.

We recommend you seek professional advice when making or amending your Will – a local solicitor can help you with this. They can also advise whether your loved ones could benefit from a reduced Inheritance Tax Rate, through you leaving a set percentage of your estate to charity.

We recommend using a solicitor to draw up a Will, or to add a codicil (any amendments to an existing Will). Your solicitor will make sure your wishes are clear and that the correct wording is used.

A gift in your Will

Gifts in Wills come in all sizes but whatever the amount, each gift allows us to make a real difference to the lives of the people we care for.

Daphne and her daughter

Why leave a legacy for hospice care:

The hospice gave her more life than she thought possible. Mum couldn’t believe that the hospice care she received was all free of charge. By leaving a gift in her Will, it was a way for her to give something back because she felt she’d had so much.

- Bridget, whose mum, Daphne was cared for by St Barnabas House
