Leave a gift in your Will

Give care and support to local people with life-limiting conditions, through a gift in your Will.

Thank you for considering leaving us a gift in your Will.

A gift to St Barnabas House – no matter how small or big – goes a long way. Our most important source of income is the support and donations we receive from individuals. In fact, the care costs of 1 in every 4 people we support are completely funded by gifts in Wills.

Frequently asked questions

There are lots of reasons why people choose to leave us a gift in their Will. Whatever leads to your decision, your kindness and consideration for others is something we cherish and never forget. We simply couldn’t continue our vital work without you.

We recommend you seek professional advice when making or amending your Will – a local solicitor can help you with this. They can also advise whether your loved ones could benefit from a reduced Inheritance Tax Rate, through you leaving a set percentage of your estate to charity.

We recommend using a solicitor to draw up a Will, or to add a codicil (any amendments to an existing Will). Your solicitor will make sure your wishes are clear and that the correct wording is used.

If you decide to leave us a gift in your Will, you will need to include the following information:

  • Legal name: St Barnabas Hospices (Sussex) Ltd – St Barnabas House
  • Main address: Titnore Lane, Worthing, BN12 6NZ
  • Our registered charity number: 256789
  • The type of gift or the amount you wish St Barnabas House to receive

Each October, we work with a number of local solicitors firms to offer appointments to make or amend Wills in return for a donation. Find out about our Make a Will month.

Gifts in Wills come in all sizes but whatever the amount, each gift allows us to make a real difference to the lives of the people we care for.

We understand that if you decide to leave a gift in your Will, it’s a private matter, so please don’t feel you have to tell us. However, if you do wish to let us know, we will do everything we can to show you how much your support means to us by inviting you to special events and helping you understand the difference your support makes.

To let us know your intentions, or if you have any other questions, please call us on: 01903 706 351 or email wills@stbh.org.uk.
